Kiss FM believes that rock is much more than a musical genre. It’s an entire culture that deserves to have its history preserved. And what better way to preserve history than in a book? But not just any old book. 

The Book of Rock. A craft piece that carries the very essence of Rock 'n Roll. Biographies and illustrations of each band are accompanied by 10 records featuring rock classics and a hidden record player at the end. But that’s not all. When the record is played normally, you can listen to an immortal classic. When the OTHERSIDE setting is activated, the record will spin backwards and tell the story behind each song.

The Book of Rock became a radio show at Kiss FM where the songs were played followed by the backwards stories about them.                                                                                                                     THE OTHERSIDE - Backward stories behind the songs:

The original book was handcrafted in a painstaking process that took around 2 years to be completed, from the development of the cover, which was hand-hewn in metal and wood, to the record player able to spin LPs backwards. Here are some steps of the process:

The illustrations were inspired by a medieval look. After a lengthy search, we found an artist able to reproduce, by hand, a style not easily found nowadays. Each detail and each patch of cross-hatching, from the bands themselves to the frames, down to the font, was all drawn by hand.

The Book of Rock is on display at the Rock n' Roll Hall of Fame Museum, in Cleveland, Ohio.

The State Traffic Department of Minas Gerais / Brazil, stopped issuing car plates with the “HIV” letter sequence given people high rejection to this combination. Prejudice against HIV-positive people is still present in society, albeit veiled, and it shows itself in little things. People say not to discriminate at all, but when they’re directly exposed to the topic, they react differently.

Volkswagen AIDS Care Program, which has been helping HIV-positive people integrate back into society for 20 years, brought back a discussion that seemed to have been settled. Through an experiment designed to expose this problem, we were able to identify the real motives behind people's turning down a car just because the plate initials are HIV. We reminded the public that no one chooses to become HIV positive. But everyone can choose not to be prejudiced.

What do people look for when they take a Test Drive? Technology? Speed? Design? We gave them convenience. Renault and McDonald’s got together to create a unique experience.


We turned a common test drive into a unique experience.
Drivers could chose an entire meal directly from the dashboard. Via 4G network, the orders were sent to the nearest restaurant. The car’s built-in GPS set the route to the drive-thru.

The usability is intuitive and was well received because it uses the structure with which McDonald’s clients are already familiar: the self-service kiosks.

When you're driving, parking, getting out of the garage or simply making a move with your car, you must stay alert for what's behind you to avoid accidents. And the easiest way to see what's behind as clear as you see whats ahead, is the Volkswagen rear view camera. 30 years. 30 posters. 3 days.

In 2016, I was invited by great friend and mentor Rafael Gil to take part, along with other designers and artists, in this project for Kiss FM, the biggest rock radio station in Brazil. As support for the #McCartneyHit campaign, we relaunched the 30 year old underestimated song "Angry" as if it was a new one, and designed a series of posters to celebrate it and make it a new hit. Our posters quickly spread through the internet, and were featured in specialized publications, such as Lürzer's Archive magazine. My role in this project was in design, illustration and typography on the following posters. The idea belongs to my friends Rodrigo Almeida, Rafael Gil and Bruno Pereira.

When you start to feel sleepy, Volkswagen fatigue sensor is the most effective tool to prevent you from sleeping at the wheel. For the image I illustrated the concept and worked in collaboration with Yellow Mello studio on the 3D to get a realistic and funny final result.

Mobil is one of the top lubricant brands, developing products for cars, motorcycles, trucks and industrial machines. To show how engines and gears that are supposed to work together can have trouble on their functions if not properly lubricated, we came up with a funny visual approach, working on the 3D image and typography in partnership with friends at Notan studio.

Off! is one of the top insect repellent brands. To encourage people in Brazil to use it daily, we decided to tell the naked truth in a funny, eye-catching way for this print/outdoor campaign: in a tropical weather country such as ours, if you don't use it, your blood becomes a delicious beverage to mosquitoes and other insects. I worked on the concept and retouch of the illustrations and had 3D skill help from friends at Yellow Mello studio.

BH Shopping is the most traditional shopping mall in Minas Gerais - Brazil. For the spring/summer collection we launched the Underwater campaign. The idea was to bring up the sensations of summer such as heat, sensuality, and refreshment, and put them together with the lightness and delicacy of the spring season.

As a fashion campaign, we wanted to have a different final result from most over retouched images we’re used to in the industry. Shooting underwater brought us to a whole new environment, and the experimentation was the main guide to the approach of the campaign. So we decided to let the movements, water blur, textures and expressions to be more natural.
